But it would seem to me that with a true freshman QB who has had a little trouble the past few games of getting started, you would want to come out and establish the running game early and let him make plays on the play action. I watched Harris and Bo break off back to back 10+ yard runs only to watch Lane call 3 straight pass plays next. I have watched the O drive down the field to the 5 by running the ball and all of a sudden those sneaky pass plays find it's way out on the field.

I know, Bama is undefeated and blowing teams out but it's pretty frustrating at time. Hurts has been great but there are time when Lane has to know he's a true freshman and protect him just a bit. A good running game is any QB best friend, all of the QBs before Hurts benefited from having a strong running game that teams had to commit extra bodies to stop, this allowed the QB to have less people in coverage to have to read. If any of the past 4 QB need that, it's Hurts since he is by far the least experienced QB Alabama has had.
