Confidence in basketball is a fragile commodity. Our team has just suffered two blows to the confidence of the team and tonight we face a Vandy team that can shoot well. I know that some have called for lineup changes, but unless handled properly, lineup changes could destroy the confidence of the team.

Tonight might be the hardest most complicated night of Coach Oats career at Bama and I am the last person that could suggest how to deal with this game, as I have no idea what should be done. Whereas the North Carolina game created the winning attitude of this team, we cannot let the Mississippi State game continue to destroy the team and I think that is what we saw Saturday. Coach Oats has a big job to do tonight and I do not envy the calls he makes, but the rest of the season hinges on the decisions he makes today. I know Harper has called for lineup changes and the book says they may be in order, but how and when they are done could be critical to the rest of the season. There are ways to change the lineup without changing the lineup.

IDK what, but some changes have to be made. Can't continue doing the same thing and expect different results. Whether it a physical change or a mental change, a change is warranted. Lets hope tonight is bounce-back-night!
RTR!!!!!

Reading between the lines in CNO interview it sounds like these young men are still trying to process the recent criminal charges on their former teammate. They may feel like he is still a teammate. I don't know how a coach deals with this. You can't tell anyone to change their feelings. Hopefully we see them play hard tonight. We have tougher games ahead.

I think Vandy tonight is a good opportunity to mix up the lineup. Let guys who were starters see the guy behind them getting some success. so maybe create a little more sense of urgency and make them want to fight for that starting spot back.

Yes. The only game we can win for this season tonight is the game tonight.

Seems like the team met the challenge and far exceeded the expectations!!!!
I don't know what Oats did/said/showed the team, but he needs to bottle it and sell it! They attacked on both ends of the court for 40 minutes. Did not wait until the 2nd half. They caught fire in the first few minutes and the flames just grew out of control.
RTR!!!!!

Harper do You know what the story was with Lawrence and the big forward that gave us so much trouble in Nashville?
