1A Same as this year ..Leadership. when Saban talks about success he starts with (senior) leadership we had it last year with Herb not so much this year. Who will step forward with vocal leadership and toughness? We had good players this year but they didn't seem that vocal. Question, were they effective in pushing teammates?

1B..team chemistry. A lot of new young players and potential transfers. Figuring out rotations and learning to play together takes time.

My best bets on both counts are Gurley and Gary. Not because of talent but because they are blue collar guys who know they can only excel as part of a team.

If Gurley plays a significant amount of minutes next year than we are in trouble.

OK....but the question is who can and will lead? To my point, coach K said yesterday's victory was not due to coaching but the heart of the team. Paraphrasing they refused to lose.

Maybe that person will emerge from the Portal! Cause that person does not exist on the present roster. Just my opinion ! RTR
And I would hope that whoever is recruited or transfers in has a very high Basketball IQ of which I think is important because those type players usually have Leadership Qualities. They not only want to learn basketball but they already know what it takes to win. WE did not have that this past year.

Whomever returns from last season's team need to improve (that includes coaches). What we don't need is guys that are only good enough to win a few games. Last season's team started out with a lot of promise but morphed into something unrecognizable. Miami defeated the barn last night playing as a team with intensity for 40 minutes. They didn't have any misfits on the court. All of their players had some talent and were able to contribute. Why can't we put at least five guys on the court at the same time without 2 or three being a liability?
