Each year, Alabama fans look forward tot he Third Saturday in October and the Tennessee Game. This week is the time for one of the greatest Rivalries in the History of College Football and the Memories of Coach Majors, General Neyland, and even the hatred of Phat Phil. The memories of Great Comebacks, Blocked Field Goals, Upsets and general great games abound. With the enlargement of the SEC, unless we go to some type of Pod Scheduling, it looks like the annual game will come to an end, after our trip to Neyland in 2024.

Well it is time to now enjoy this last bi-annual trip to Bryant Denny, as this memory will soon fade.

One of my favorite memories was the 1990 game. Late in the Fourth Quarter, Tennessee was driving for the winning field goal with less than a minute to play. The snap was down, the hold was good, the kick was Harrison's block bounded back over 20 yards to the 37. Two Turner Runs set up the Doyle Phillip Doyle Field Goal was Good for 9-6 win over #3 Tennessee. I still remember Roger Schultz remarking that Alabama needed to start paying property tax on Neyland Stadium, because the Tide owned the Vols.
