MOBILE, Ala. ā James Burnip says he isnāt a big fan of peanut butter, but other than that life has been pretty sweet for the former Alabama punter as he takes part in preparations for the Reeseās Senior Bowl in Mobile this week.
Burnip is serving as the punter for the American Team during this weekās college all-star showcase. The Australian earned the spot following a solid season at Alabama last year where he averaged 45.37 yards on 52 punts while pinning his opponent inside the 20-yard line 19 times.
While heāll have to wait until Saturday to show off his leg in a game setting, Burnip has been impressing scouts with his leg power and accuracy so far during practice this week.
āJust be myself, just do what I do,ā Burnip said. āI donāt need to change anything. Iāve had a couple good seasons back-to-back, so I donāt need to change anything. Just keep going in, show them I can pin them on the sidelines, kick it far, kick it high. Whatever they want me to do, I can do it.ā
