I’ve seen a lot of this sentiment and to be honest I don’t really get it. We will essentially have a 3 man rotation at the 5 between Bediako, Pringle, and Gurley with Clowney also available. Gurley and Clowney are really 4s but can give us minutes at the 5 in our system. And Bediako shows all the signs of being a top 10 big in college bball. 7’0”, great hands, became a very good shot blocker later in the season as a freshman, very good inside out passer, and made massive strides finishing at the rim as a freshman. He’s got the tools to be a great college player. Needs to get stronger, add some weight, and just play a bit smarter as I’m not fouling and positioning himself to rebound. He’s also a guy that has potential to become deadly from 6-8 feet but that may take a little longer to develop.

I think Bediako has Cody Kessler type potential defensively and it started to show a bit in the last month last year. He’s just got to understand how to effect every shot without fouling which was what made Kessler so dominant.

regardless, Bediako will get 25 minutes per game outside of foul trouble, and we’ll have 2 other guys that can fill the other 15 minutes at the 5. Pringle will not give us much offensively but will be a great rebounder and hustle guy day 1. I see Gurley mainly as a 15 minute per game guy mainly at the 4, but can get minutes at the 5 as well if needed.

If we ran a true power forward and center out there all the time I would agree we need another big but I think in our ideal lineup our 4 is basically a long versatile guard like Herb or Brandon Miller this year
