Not to be negative on the young man, but all that showed was he is a good shooter, but for a point guard you have to get your teammates involved as well as play defense, and we didn't see any of that.

No. Will see what the NBA holds for Lewis but this take is absolutely horrid

Lewis had much faster straight line speed than enimo could ever dream of
Horrid? Now that is laughable. Ennis was by far a better passer, ball handler and floor leader. Better shooter as well.
Perhaps Lewis was quicker up the floor. But Whatley had ball handling and passing abilities Lewis CAN ONLY DREAM Of.
And one more thing- college basketball was a MAN’s league in the early 80’s. Not this watered down one and done fiasco college basketball has become today. Ennis played against far better competition than Lewis did in college. Not even debatable.
Any of Wimp’s Sweet Sixteen teams would have smoked either of the last 3 Bama teams .

Won't disagree that Whatley was the best PG ever at Alabama, but Lewis is a far better shooter than Ennis. If Whatley had an outside shot, he would have gone down as one of the best PG's in NBA history.

There is little question in my mind that the Bama teams of the 80’s, a number of times, were better than the Bama team was even last year. In fairness, though, all the teams, as a whole, were much more talented. I will say that Bama’s team was deeper last year than I ever recall, especially if Alex T had not gotten injured.

Better shooter? Are we talking about the same guy?

Kira Lewis shot 44.7% from the field during his two years at Bama.

Ennis Whatley shot 49.8% from the field in his two years at Bama.

How do you figure that Ennis couldn't shoot?

Enimo1 Was not a good outside shooter. In today's game he probably would not do very well from the 3 point line. He was a good penetrator good court vision crafted getting in the lane and scoring. But he was not a threat from deep perse

I totally disagree with you on this one. He was such a great penetrator he didn't have to shoot from outside that much but he could shoot from outside. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Ennis Whatley was better than Lewis in EVERY aspect.
Very special group of players during that period. every school in Birmingham had players. Not just Parker with G.Crosby but Carver , Phillips(Tennis). Jones valley, Woodlawn, Ramsey, Leeds(CharlesB.). The PAT team that was formed really was good. don't know if that will ever happen again.
