Just does not seem to be fitting in well with this team. He has so much potential but for whatever reason, just doesn’t look happy.

Last night he was great. He played with confidence and when a lane opened up he hit it with good speed. Looked more like he did in the winning streak. Now if he keeps it at that level Bama will be a much more difficult out. There's a reason that the offense looked a lot smoother last night. Basically because Shack, Q and Ellis were on the attack. Once the drive breaks down one guy the entire floor on defense turns into chaos for the opposing team and thats when Bama is at its best.

I'm just talking about overall this year we were all expecting him to be our Kira replacement. That has been far from the case. I don't feel he is happy with his current role. Again just my opinion.

I thought he was better last night but I sure didn’t realize he was great. The ball seems to stick more when he’s in the game. We need a guy like him for late games and late shot clocks. But we don’t need the 1 on 1 showcase dribble moves with everybody watching early in the shot clock.

My .02: I have been very vocal all year last year and off season that he was not going to be as good as Kira and that we were going to be losing something at PG. he seems to be a typical 5 star who was just over hyped coming out of high school and doesn’t have the physical tools to be dominant... but he’s very good. At times this year he’s actually surpassed my expectations coming in. As far as his attitude, I’ve gotten the exact opposite impression. Seems to love the team and even said he likes coming off the bench. Seems super engaged on the bench and listens respectfully when Oats is coaching him up.

I noticed too that when he gets pulled, like he did against Kentucky after a couple of consecutive turnovers, he listens and responds to coach Oats before he even goes to sit down.

If JQ did have a bout with COVID, which is what we think was his reason for missing a few games, he is not going to come back at 100%. It will take a little bit of time for him to get back to full speed playing condition. Hopefully what we saw last night is that he has turned that corner and is getting close to going full speed again. If so he is without a doubt the best 6th man in the SEC.

Yeah maybe I was spoiled watching Kira and just the overall hype with JQ being a McDonalds All American and coming from a program like Villanova haha. I love JQ and hope for the best. I just hope he doesn't regret coming here since he doesn't start. And of course any player is going to say they like coming off the bench if they are asked but some players think they deserve starting no matter what.
