JQ

I noticed last night, after Bama called the timeout on the failed inbound play at 19:27, Q was in and Shack was out. Now that could have been Oats pissed off at Shack for not doing something right on the inbounds play but that was awfully early to go to the bench and Bama only scored like 5 points before Q was taken out later in the half. To me starting him is a "no brainer" as well but Oats loves him coming in against the opposition's second string and then logging heavy minutes afterwards. I am sure Oats has data to prove Q's production is up 13% when he comes off of the bench.

I noticed that with shack too so I went back and watched. Shack was supposed to initiate the inbounds play by setting a low post screen but he didn’t move. Petty yelled at him and pointed and then shack just casually jogged over to set the screen. Pretty sure that’s what got him yanked

There is A LOT of slow movement on their inbounds plays.

The problem is, Oats can’t wait for the other team to go to their bench anymore before he has to get JQ in. I understand where Oats was coming from. But that was before JQ had become our guy. He’s our guy now on offense. He needs to keys to crank the thing up....
Side note, I’m excited about how he’s playing lately. My biggest worry for awhile has been getting to the tournament and not having a guy that can get a shot or get somebody else a shot. You have to have that guy in March and he’s stepped up. And he should only get better. He just hasn’t played a lot of ball since high school.

I agree hes been the best player in most of our recent games. But I just worry of foul trouble.
