Not sure we all realize what we are about to have. We have had some great guys in the middle, like Cody and Champman lately, but really think these two are about to redefine the NG position at Bama. Loved me some Mount Cody but to be honest, he wasn't in too good a shape, and was unmovable at the point of attack due mostly to his weight. We recently tried to sign Matt Elam, and missed, but he looks to be the same type. Champman was strong, but think he wasnt as athletic asothers.
While these guys are all good players, and I take nothing away from their accomplishments, I truly believe with Payne and Jones, you are about to see guys that can hold point of attack.......and......push the blockers back. Both these young men are athletic and strong to go with the pounds they carry. Rotating them against the run heavy teams we play will greatly enhance our ability in future years to continue to clog the middle runs.
