Run down the court and shoot that Pill, rarely get an offensive rebound, then run down the court to watch the other team go to the board with a non challenged layup or watch them shoot the ball., then run down the court to do it all over again. What you see missing is DEFENSE of any type of Moderation.
Crazy thing is....We have talent that is simply not being coached to play Defense or the player mentality is, we gonna play regardless.
This team is regressing after a Great Start to the season. Defense!!!!!!!!

Coaching.

We've got to play cohesive defense for 40 minutes. The shots will eventually fall. This team maybe a lot more average than everyone thought.

Really feeling the effect of losing a guy like Herb Jones. He was an elite defender that no matter what the position we could put him on that guy and he'd shut them down. Would have been nice to have him last night against Jabari.

Our offense almost entirely relies on generating fast breaks off our defense, because our half court offense is about as creative as Grant's. So until the defensive intensity picks up, I expect more of the same.

Also, a team that puts up 30 3 point shots per game needs to be ranked better than 220th in 3 FG%. On the plus side this ranking is up from about 278th a week or 2 ago.

Fortunate for us we have some quality wins early in the year that will help our tournament resume. Anything around .500 in conference play should guarantee us a bid. Right now I'd say we're looking at anywhere from 8-10 to 10-8 in conference assuming no drastic improvement.

Players making plays always makes a difference but I believe Oats lack of coaching experience on this level is really beginning to show. The tendencies of this team is unbelievable combined with the turnover rate are making opposing coaches job easy in preparing to play Alabama with one prime game to look at was the Mizzo lost of which is so very average . They simply filled our predictable penetrate and throw the ball out to the perimeter with easy interceptions for easy baskets.

Herb played 4 years but that is all you get in college. Agree with rest of your post. Have such a limited post game and shots are not falling.
