Sears was named a finalist for the second straight season. Joining him on the list are Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr., Marquette’s Kam Jones, Purdue’s Braden Smith and Tennessee’s Zakai Zeigler.

Some Sears accolades:

— Currently sits as Division I’s active leader in points (2,706 career points)

— Only player in the SEC to rank in the top-two in scoring (No. 2, 19.1 ppg) and assists (No. 2, 5.0 apg)

— Ranks seventh on Alabama’s all-time scoring list with 1,815 points at UA

— Since 2004, Sears is the 17th player in Division I to have 67 career games scoring 20 points or more

— Became the first player in Division I this season with back-to-back 30-point games (at No. 15 Missouri and vs. No. 17 Kentucky), both against AP-ranked teams and is the second player to do so in the last 20 seasons
