I wanted him, based on his record of accomplishment. @ WSU, but it was obvious that he wasn't all that interested in Alabama. The $$$ is almost the only reason why he briefly considered it. He would have left Tuscaloosa as soon as a big time opening @ a major basketball power came calling. Fran made great strides on the field when he was here, but he never really fit into the Bama culture or seemed to embrace it in a genuine way. I don't think that Marshall has the same character deficiencies as Fran did, but I think it's obvious that he didn't want to be here, & therefore, it's good that he's not.
Obviously, I'll support whoever the hire is, but I'd like to campaign a little here for Steve Prohm. He's family. He's a Bama grad, & he would fit. He would want to be here, and he has a career winning percentage of .779. I don't care that it's @ Murray State. Basketball is basketball, & if you can coach, you can coach.
