As the new season approaches, Mr. Pessimist has a legitimate question for the rest of you experts. Will the 2015 Crimson Tide be the best edition of the Tide, ever?
I know that I am usually cautious, but I just don't see the weakness in this team.
We may have the best front seven on defense that Coach Saban has ever had and I see the possibility of no fewer that three first round picks in the group.
The Defensive Backfield may have more speed than any we have ever had.
I can see, one day, that the Ray Guy Award will be renamed for our punter.
The Offensive line will be vastly improved and that will cure the problems we encountered last year with the run game. The offensive line could have two of the best we have ever put on the field at the same time in Sims and Cotton.
At wide receiver, I know we lost the greatest to ever play at Bama, but I think that the six that will rotate have more talent than we have ever had, combined at WR. I think we have a freshman that can make us forget Julio and Coop.
At Running Back, the three headed monster has Shaun Alexander with speed, Kenyan Drake, to back up the King and the freshman isn't anything to sneeze on.
Tight end may be our only weakness, but hopefully the light goes off and he finally reaches his potential.
At QB? We won with Greg Mac and QB and I think we have three better than GMAC this year. I think the fact that we have a running game this year changes all dimensions on offense.
Placekicker has to be better with another year under his belt.
I think the offseason moves on the coaching staff were all an upgrade and we don't have to worry about any coach jumping the bones of a players mother.
All is all, I think this may be Coach Saban's strongest team, but fluke losses happen. The pessimist has lost his pessimism about this season.
