Nate Oats: Brandon Miller's pregame introduction routine 'not appropriate'

The majority of the Bama fans are trying to be supportive of Miller and the situation. But geez, yet another poor decision. And he didnt act alone here. What in the hell was Cottrel thinking here??
Bama / BM was the biggest sports story of the week and now bama has given more ammunition to the world to discuss.

This was an easy fix prior to the game …

Whoever is Sports information director or head of bball Ops should have snuffed this off

Wow

I’m all in that Miller did absolutely nothing wrong (please don’t start a debate about it), but this was probably not a good idea.
Right? So on Wednesday if Miller nails a three is he going to put his hands in the air and act like he's shooting a pair of six-guns?

Well, I hope he doesn’t. I could be wrong, but I don’t think he ever does. I’m not sure what you’re getting at

I was trying to make a point about just having some plain common sense. You'd think after what he's gone through with the incident as well as the media he'd want to make zero reference to anything related to weapons.

Gotcha and I totally agree. Apparently he’s been doing it all year, but you would think it would’ve dawned on him that now’s not the time. He’s 18 and obviously clueless

Someone needs to go over all of their actions with a magnifying glass and catch this shit before it happens. Whoever our PR guy is, he/she needs to be fired. Way too many mistakes that are easy fixes.

I don’t have a problem with the intro itself because they’ve done it every game this season. A lot of players use it. However, in the situation this is, they should be more aware. The intro isn’t used to check a criminal for weapons, it’s how MMA fighters are prechecked before a fight.

He's f***ing innocent. Good grief. We're talking about pre-game shit they've done for 5 years.
I hear you and I get your frustration. But we live in an uber sensitive world that is constantly looking to tear down others. Miller and the University need to be smarter than this. But also, I'd like to remind these media talking heads that the guy who pulled the trigger is in jail and being charged with capital murder for this heinous act. And, the guy who pulled the trigger was not a member of the UA bball program nor a student of the University. Just curious, has anyone even heard his name mentioned in any of these reports?

No

Garbage? Not hardly. How about the truth? From a public relations stand point the handling of this entire sad story has been rank amateur hour.
Not sure what to say if you cannot recognize that fact.
Here we go with the wokeness guru and the not truth guy. This is only a story because miller is a basketball guy. I guarantee no one on this board has reached out to that womans family, offered money, started a fund for the child, payed for the womans funeral, but on here talking about how upset, or how sad they are about her death or attacking people who are supposedly not showing no sympathy. Where is the outrageous that a mom of a 5 year old is out riding around with drugs and gun in a vehicle at 2 in the morning. Everone is only worried about alabama and Miller, just like you. The only thing that can be done by the university has been done, miles was expelled from the school. As for Miller being patted down that's what is done to MMA fighters before entering the ring, but I guess continue being woke.

It doesn't matter what he says. If he says that he knew about and will put a stop to it, people would be mad that he knew. It just doesn't matter. This is a media witch hunt!
His position that he will not take any more questions about this incident, following administration’s recommendation, is the best one. Just focus on the game at hand, because NO MATTER what he says about the incident is going to be dissected by the press into something negative, so why give them any more material to beat him, or the players, up with. Even after he came out and said that, the first idiot reporter asks him a question directly pertaining to it. Sooner or later, they will get sick of asking questions that they will get no response too.

Pat Forde, not much talent there. His view of himself and his hair don't match the truth. And usually enjoys throwing irrelevant punches our way.
Just a bunch of awful hack journalists making statements about a situation they know nothing about, at some one else’s expense, just so they can get exposure, and social media/twitter is the biggest forum of awful morons as there is out there. Glad I grew up without it.

Eventually they'll need to start shifting gears to what level of "care" Cedric Johnson had for her in that course of events.
No they won’t, because they could care less about the young lady that was killed, or Johnson, or whether justice ever gets properly served. They/that don’t bring media exposure. Thank God these people aren’t in charge of the country, because it would look like the Stalinist Soviet Union, with people being hung from every tree without even a trial.

Nothing to do with wokeness dude/but has everything to do with common sense. Gotta be smarter than that/ but then again some people....

Not truth? You confuse truth with what you do not agree with. Typical of a bunch of people I know in this state.

It’s hard to believe that the AD and entire administration did not know everything from the night it happened.

I guarantee the rest of the team did.
Not saying Miller should be suspended or anything like that/ I actually believe his entire story.
But the administrative handling of this has been just awful.
Sorry/ but the truth hurts.

Last night I was watching the Fox post game show after the IU-Purdue game and a couple of the talking heads made a 'rest in peace Jamea Harris' comment. You could feel the complete emptiness in their comments and easily see through the theatrics.

I actually just assumed this "pat down" would look bad. Just saw it. Was a nothing. Are these adults who are choosing to pick apart our every move and write novels on our pregame routine and how ashamed we should be? The amount of disdain i have for these fools grows by the day. They hate Alabama in any and all things.

Like the crying Mayor in Minneapolis.

Posturing is all they were doing. Way too common these days and sickening

I get it Harp, but they really need be more sensitive toward public perception! So far, they haven’t handled this situation very well! Unfortunately, this is the world we live in!!!

Me thinks one of the assistant coaches or staff members should have advised Brandon against this. Under the circumstances it was a bad look.
