Ten SEC teams enter the day as favorites to win their first games and eight as #1 seeds to win their regionals. Who do you have winning today and who advances to Supers.
Caution, most college teams have at least one quality pitcher that could throw for anyone, so just because your first game is against a four, the four’s first pitcher could easily be a weekend starter for your team.
Jacob Mayers, who we will probably see tonight is the only pitcher Nichols really has. He started 14 games this year and has a 1.93 ERA, the sixth best in the NCAA. I don’t care what league you are pitching in, but that is really good. Nichols has a team ERA that leaves a lot to be desired, so after Mayers pitches, they will probably not win a game.
I think on Paper Auburn is the longest shot. Penn could win the first three games in Auburn, as Dromboski, Coady and Zaffiro are quality pitchers and they are not a bad hitting team, they just don’t have Auburn‘s power. After the first three pitchers, Penn is in trouble.
