According to Oats’ presser today, Gurley plans to use his free year of eligibility to return to Alabama next season. Will not be honored at senior day on Saturday. Solid news.

Yep. Even with his faults I like this team better with his experience. Wonder if Bediako and Gary will return as well? Got to mean Ambrose looks elsewhere.
By doing this does he get to be 14 or do we still have to trim it down to 13 players??
Bediako for sure. Gary seems to be getting less and less PT. Very odd season for Gary
Gary has not been the same since his injury to his face. I think the mask they are making him wear in affecting him.
I liked shack when he was a 3rd option... lead dogs shooting 39% from the floor, however....

Going to be plenty of room for Oats to go out and get some options. I don't disagree with your assessment. Shack is a lot better when he doesn't have to carry the team and Q and Miles have somewhat let him down this season.
You left Gurley and Holt off of our returnees for next season. That would give us 10, and possibly more, depending on what Miles, Gary, and Tchikou decide. If all 3 return we’ll be at 13 and won’t have a spot for a transfer.
Yeah I knew that was too easy. If that's the case then somebody is leaving IMO. Got got got to have firepower and while they should improve Oats isn't going to go into next season counting on a bunch of freshmen, Holt, Bediako, Ambrose, Miles, Burnett, and Gurley to help Shack out.
Doesn’t it make sense for Tchikou to move on if he doesnt make a move toward the floor? Roster spots are too valuable for non participants.
That is worth a lot in that he really got better as the season wore on
Yeah I didn't even add him. Just assumed he was gone (perhaps erroneously). Maybe he is determined enough to spend the next 6 months in the gym and prove me wrong.
Question? in looking at the roster, there are actually 18 listed, all but maybe 4 have played. How’s this working? Some, of course, played mop up. I thought we could only have 13?

13 is the number of players you can have on scholarship. All others are walkons. Not sure how many you can have but I'd assume the roster can be no greater than 18 if that's what we have.
Great news if Gurley sticks around…having his experience with the new guys could be huge. And if the Shack or JQ rumor proves true too, then Bama should be a ton of fun to watch next year. #RTR
He shouldn’t. He won’t be drafted by the NBA. Desperately needs another year to mature, keep turnovers down and have better judgment at this level of basketball. If he leaves it will be a colossal mistake. Hopefully, his “advisors” are smart and wise rather than greedy.
He will for sure be drafted. Right now he is a late first round pick. He is expected to go.
