UNC just played the same 5 players the entire second half. That’s a bit extreme, but I lean way more towards that approach than playing 10-11 guys. Playing so many players, which we’ve done for a long time, makes it very difficult to get players who are playing meaningful minutes rhythm and confidence. Most college coaches seem to want to play a lot of players but I just don’t get it. Trim it to 7-8 player rotation and roll with it.

I agree. College coaches are probably scared kids will transfer if they don't get minutes. It's a lot easier to get players at UNC than Bama, so if they transfer from UNC, oh well. Bama...different story.

Our problem is which 7-8 do you roll with? We have 4 guys you can generally count on giving you a certain kind of game every time out(sorta). I think if we had a legit 7 players that gave us certain calliber of play then a big drop off beyond those 7 then we would see a tighter rotation. Darius Miles is a good option some games and kills your the next. Gurley same, JD same, chuck is consistent, Rojas is basically getting Gary’s minutes now which is kind of shocking but imo Gary has to be well shy of 100%… just saying I think everyone is so inconsistent oats hasn’t been able to settle in on any specific group.

I get that, and I think that’s why so many have difficulty making the decision to trim it down. However, guys like Gurley and Gary could potentially be much more productive if given more minutes. Unfortunately, they’re having to split minutes with 3 other guys so they really don’t have a ton of opportunity to truly get into rhythm and impact the game meaningfully. IMO there’s no need for this team to go beyond Bediako, Gurley, Gary inside. 1-3 positions I’d go Q, Shack, Ellis, JD and maybe Holt.

I probably agree to be honest.. 8 would probably be my rotation. I’d love to know the deal with Gary. I think he’s gotta be struggling with the shattered orbital bone more than we realize. His minutes have just died

He also hurt is foot very early in the year. Wonder if that’s just been nagging and has limited his performance

I agree. This isn’t the nba.

We have way too many lineups going on in a giving game.
