- Well I haven’t had to write one of these in a while. Be prepared for FOGs to say the sky is falling and this team is not very good or overrated. Anyone in their right mind knows that Alabama is a top 15 basketball team and Oklahoma will likely be there too. This team could’ve quit down 12 with 10 to go, but they fought back and even took the lead. Oklahoma was without their leading scorer, but Alabama just did not play well to start the game or end the first half and it cost them. They were outscored 17-2 in the first 5 minutes of the game and last 2 minutes of the first half combined.

-You can tell this team has lost a step or two being banged up. They have played average games the previous 3 games, and were good enough to pull 2 of them out for a win. With Herb playing below 75%, Bruner missing multiple games, JQ being sluggish after missing a few games,Rojas hurt, and Reese banged up it’s been tough offensively. They do not have that same burst when driving that they did before, but the players with get healthy and get it back.

-Look at the positives. Alabama really battled to get back in the game late. In the past, Alabama would’ve folded and it would’ve gotten ugly. This team is resilient and takes the attitude of the coach and that’s how coach Oats is. The team is just getting to reliant on beating their man off the dribble and cannot right now. The staff will have to find different ways to get Primo and Petty the ball.

-Alabama faces LSU at home on Wednesday with a chance to go 10-0 in conference. That will be a huge game before traveling to Missouri, and then the schedule really opens up.

Good summary. I had a bad feeling about this game given how banged up they looked against Kentucky. Still feel good about this team’s capability.

How many starters was Oklahoma down ?

The big problem I see is rebounding. Seems like we are never there for an offensive rebound because the entire team is already running back up the court when someone shoots. Add in the missed layups and that’s the difference in the game to me.

JQ has to get better. Idk if his health is the biggest factor or what, but he’s been awful since he came back

Being "banged up" is not an excuse for bad, lazy passes and lots of walks. This team did not come to play today for some reason.
If you don’t think multiple players being hurt isn’t an excuse for doing things you normally don’t do, then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s basketball. It happens sometimes.

A game like this was going to happen. When we struggle with making 3’s and are forced into driving every time on offense without moving the ball it takes away our offensive advantage. They talked about it during the game too. I know injuries matter but to me today we were just outplayed. I think we have a dangerous team but in my mind we are more of a 15-20 in rankings which is still awesome. We are definitely a team that can heat up and scare teams in the tourney. Gotta keep our heads up!

I have not watched many bama bb games this season. Actually only one before today. Over the years just got tired of watching the complete crap we put on the floor. I have read many positive things about this team. Today’s performance was a reminder of why I quit watching them. I thought we looked awful. Play like that and we will be one and done in any tournament.

Then don’t watch again. Simple as that. Football will be back soon

And we can tell you haven't watched any games. Hopefully you will not watch anymore!

OU on fire out of the gate, also got all the calls (like home teams seem to do in these conference deals) . Shack connects on two late layups we are here with another Top 15 road scalp. Rebounding seemed like a huge issue, but only a 38-31 deficit. Any other Top 25 Tide side in the last 20 years gets beat by 15 + on top of a blowout loss @Vandy, Auburn and 2 pt loss @ a .500 UGA/SC team. This is a different type team that ran into a really hot OU team on an below average day. It happens.
