I've noticed several times Oats has nearly run on the floor wanting JD to push it and JD pulls it out to run half court offense. His patience is pretty incredible for a highly touted guy who is a scorer but almost seems tentative and a little unsure about how he needs to attack within this offense. He's had a few stretches where he was aggressive and made plays with pentetration. Once he really gets going this team can be next level

They missed Gary last night. Need to get him back healthy.
No doubt. His rebounding was sorely missed. I say rest him until he’s 100% or close to it instead of throwing him out there hobbled and it never getting better. I don’t mind taking it on the chin in Seattle. It will be a good learning experience for the young guys regardless. Would rather have healthy Gary for the long haul

Yep... noticed that he appears too tentative, trying to figure things out
IMO Davison is tentative because he is shooting 14% from 3pt…not good for a guard, but also not terribly unexpected for a guy that was so much better athletically at every level until now (still a better athlete than almost everyone but it’s closer). If Davison works hard to develop a shot that is at least average then he will take off.

JD is a great athlete, who will be an asset this year, but my only real concern with him when he came in was his shooting. When JQ started shooting better, the defense had to come out and guard him, and that opened things up for him to exploit the defense with his quickness more, which is why I felt he was our best player the last month or so of last season. If JD can find a consistent outside shot, watch out!

Like our football game against LSU. I was not happy about our play, but when you play a bad game, but can still walk out with a win and regroup, it still feels good.
I think as the season progresses last night's win will look much more impressive then now. I thought that was a pretty good starting 5 USA put out there. Made up of transfers from some big time programs.

I agree 100%. Already showing so much maturity the way he manages the offense. Like you said most 5 star guys would be looking for buckets. JD is already a team first guy.

I totoally agree with that. I just feel we played a sloppy game(same as Tony). Regardless of the skill level of the opponent you are playing, we just can’t have that many turnovers and call it a strong performance. Fortunately, we were able to overcome it and get a W.

Agree with the points ITT... Seems a little scared to shoot from 3 right now, drives to drive the lane every time or just dish it out.

I think he will be really, really good and is just getting a feel for things and warming up a bit. I say it every time but I am excited about this team

Every match up is different every game, some better than others. Younger guys usually struggle somewhat in the early season. Expect JD to develop over next couple of games.
Oakland is a damn good team and will challenge us pretty good.
