In 2013 I was happy with the margin of victory but concerned that our offense did very little against Virginia Tech.
In 2014 I was pleasantly surprised with Blake's first game even though most passes were short, I was very disappointed with our secondary and how many guys were running free.
So what are your expectations for Wisconsin? I expect them to try and pound it and they have a good back in Clement replacing Melvin Gordon. I think their QB play will be average and we will be all over the backfield all night. They looked decent against Auburn but got curb stomped by Ohio State. I expect our front 7 to dominate and make it tough for the Badgers to take the air out of the football. I expect them to take shots against our corners and likely make some explosive plays.
Offensively I expect us to use the short pass game to establish the run. I expect a heavy dose of Big Henry as soon as we get 7 or 8 out of the box. I expect us to take some shots down field to Ardarius and crew. I would not be surprised if we throw 2 picks.
I'm sure Vegas will have us a 13.5 favorite or more. While that seems pretty high for an opening game with a team that doesn't have a starting QB named, I think that number will be right. Winning the turnover battle and limiting their explosive plays will be the key. My way to early score prediction is 34-17.
