Our players will have to lay it all on the field to beat UGA

I don't have to belabor the point that UGA is a very talented team with speed, strength, and disciple to execute. It will take an all-in, 100% every down effort on the part of every offensive, defensive, and special teams' player to beat UGA and some very wise offensive and defensive play calling by our coordinators throughout the game. A few things that I see that will be essential in our game plan:
  • Our OC Rees will need to have more designed runs for Milroe as he had against LSU to leverage Milroe's ability against outstanding 5-star defenders. Milroe's speed and athletic ability must be used against UGA's talented defense to win. If we execute only straight up run and pass plays as we did again Auburn, we will lose. We need Milroe to feel free to make a decision to run up-field as he did against LSU and wreak havoc.
  • Do not just depend on long developing pass plays. UGA is far too athletic in the front seven and we will need to call plays to get the ball quickly to our speedy receivers in the short and intermediate passing game, combined with the RB and QB running game. Only then will we have deep routes open with enough time to throw.
  • Our OL needs to press their big bodies against UGA's front 7 with reckless abandon.
  • Big question as to whether Key is our best option at strong safety and whether Lawson is our best option at MIKE? We were much better off stopping opponents running games with the combination of Marshall and Campbell, rather than Lawson leading the ILB show. Key's presence does put our secondary starters in their best positions, but he will need to be pulled if he continues to miss tackles.
  • Every man on the defense must sell out his body to hit and wrap up on tackles against UGA's TE's and running backs. If not, missed tackles will cost us the game.
  • Every player needs to play 100% for sixty minutes and even into OT, and every coach must observe, make adjustments, and make the right play calls and player substitutions.
Just my thoughts.
