Saw this interview the other night. I kinda liked it! It’s confident but it’s not like he said anything inappropriate or called out a team.
Not too cocky at all. According to Oats post game presser Oats had intentions of designing a play late in the game to get Petty some points. Petty told him not to worry about it "Let's just win."
I want teams to fear playing Alabama. In order to have that, you have to have a little swagger. I don’t think he said anything that was bad.
He knows they have the bullseye on them. He’s just saying we ain’t backing down from the smoke, instead we invite it. I thought it was a good interview.

I haven't seen a lack of effort he just wasn't shooting that much vs UK. JMO.
