Whoever sets the tone or the pace and intensity in a basketball game generally has the upper hand. Our losses have been a result of having the pace of play determined by our opponent. Moving forward the success of this team will be determined by our intensity and our pace of play. Neither Oklahoma or Missouri are as good as us...they just played harder and determined the pace of play for the majority of the game. This is not just a coaching problem it is a leadership problem. When they fix this chink in our make up we will win em all. RTR

I agree that Mizoo and OK set the pace and it made us look like we were sleepwalking, but the TOs and missed FTs is 100% on us.

Last two games against OU and Mizzo have to be a wake up call to the team they have got to up their games to compete out of the blocks and with the numbers of players he plays there is no reason for one not to play aggressively. Also, i know this is going to ruffle some feathers but Herb is not our go to man with the game on the line. He is one tremendous defensive player but with the talent on this team anyone of them can shoot.

That absolutely shouldn’t ruffle a single feather. No way do we want Herb taking those shots when you’ve got Petty, Shack, Q, even Ellis.

Our energy has seemed low the past two Saturdays. It seemed to pick up once we started to press. Maybe we need to press to create energy. I believe we are deep enough. Just a thought.

No way we want Shack trying to make a play at the end of the game, to out of control when he tries to do to much. I'll take Herb and the two plays coach Oats drew up at the end of the game. A healthy Herb finishes one of those two plays. Feathers ruffled here, its on Herb to finish especially the one with the fake hand off and him driving to the basket with his strong hand. The other one was obviously a foul......

I would agree with you on Shack Bocat, but Herb has been missing shots and layups at the rim for 3 years not just since he got banged up. Herb is a stud and I want him on the court at all times because of the intangibles he brings, but IMO he does not need the ball in his hands with 30 seconds or less to play in a 1 possession game UNLESS he comes down with a rebound and goes back up.

ROLL TIDE!!!!

Love Herb a ton and couldn't agree more on Shack. I'm more thinking have Shack coming around a double screen for a catch and shoot. Not a drive to the basket. The bottom line is no one other than Petty would be taking the shot at the end of the game if it were up to me. I'd live with the result of a Petty 3 either way. Don't care how contested.
