Alabama went on the road to the Pete and came away with a 81-65 come from behind victory.
Keys to the game:
- 3 point shooting, specifically in the second half. We made 10 in the game and 8 in the second half. Although the percentage wasn't great (36%), they were clutch 3's. Corban hit 7 and Riley hit 3. LSU who is the leading 3 point shooting team in the league only hit 5. The defense did a great job running them off the line.
-Rebounding, also in the second half was excellent. We were getting beat in the first half 23-19 but buckled down and outrebounded them 46-40 and had 20 offensive. We are the leading rebounding team in the SEC and that is how we win.
-Adjustments. Coach Avery has excellent adjustments in the second half in terms of game planning and adjusting the game plan with how the flow of the game is going. We took a lot of 3's in the first half, and most were bad shots against the zone. We decided to start throwing it into the post more and the ball movement was beautiful to watch. Scored 53 in the second half compared to 28 in the first.
-Playing with foul trouble. Donta, Dazon, Jimmie, and Key played with 4 fouls most of the second half and those 4 players were "key" in completing the victory. I want to compliment Donta Hall. He is my favorite player on the team, personally. He is so athletic, plays extremely hard, and has improved more than any player I've seen us have in the previous 2-3 years. He has become a legit post threat and carried us in multiple games for stretches. His poster dunk was sick.
Player(s) of the game:
Corban (24) and Riley (20) combine for 44 of the 81 points had were the only 3 point threats in the game.
