Florida lost their star player and potential SEC POY Keyontae Johnson three games ago and haven’t missed a beat since. After blowing out Vanderbilt, Florida beat a very tough LSU team. They have some size and a lot of athleticism, and they’re built a lot like how Alabama is in that regard. They like to play fast now, compared to being one of the slower paced teams since Mike White took over.

Three guys stand out for them and that’s 6’11 F Colin Castleton, 6’5 G Scottie Lewis, and 6’5 G Tre Mann. Castleton is a stretch big, stepping into the Naz Reid role, with not as good defensive prowess. Mann and Lewis are both sophomores coming off really nice freshmen campaigns and have taken on a bigger role. They like to drive a lot, so it will really test Alabama’s ability to stay in front of the ball.

Alabama had a great defensive plan of packing the paint against UT on Saturday, but Florida likes to play more outside the paint so it will be a change. This has a chance to be a high scoring, fast paced and fun game to watch. It is a big test for Alabama (#36 in the NET) taking on #17 Florida. Alabama has the highest NET win in the country in #3 Tennessee.
