Coker has been given every chance to get the job from the time he stepped on campus. The kid has been given the keys to the Rolls Royce but drives it like a Ford Focus. Somethings just not right. They've tried to piss him off and light a fire under his arse, intervention, nothing works. The intangibles a QB needs are missing. Maybe if he gets a few games under his belt. Go look at that series from the 2nd or 3rd game of the year when he single handedly drove us out of field goal range against a creampuff.
Morris is the wildcard here. Blake Sims predicted he would win the job and he has the most rapport with teammates and the most confidence. Hes not spectacular but not a screw up either. He has a golden opportunity in the scrimmage Saturday to take control. No one knows how hell peform when given the keys.
Cornwell didnt get many looks Saturday but the kids confidence is not where it should be. Maybe its the pressure and hes not ready but he has time to fix that. Bateman is not ad solid as the any but not the worst either. Batemans aloof at times and don't think they want to give him the keys.
Barnett can play and has more talent than any of the QBs but I dont know if the coaches want to put him out there if they dont have to. Kiffin wants to play him. I would want to save him and let him Cornwell and Hurts battle it out next year.
All in all, these guys are not confident. People talk about Aj because he was cocky but thats what it takes. Blake was a natural leader and guys wanted to make him look good. No one has shown those abilities yet. Jameis winston, Cam Newton are a holes but thats why they worked.we need that. Unfortunately, thats not something you can tell when recruiting. We need a fearless leader who won't cry and sink their head when they make a mistake, thats what were missing. Hopefully one of them stops playing scared
