I re-watched junior year game film on Quinnen Williams from Birmingham's Wenonah High and was tremendously impressed regarding his quickness, use of hands in shedding blockers, his ability to make penetration, and his tenacity in getting to the QB and / or ball carrier. He is all over the field at 6'4" and 265 lbs. He just may make an excellent DE at the next level. I realize that the state of Alabama has gone to a seven level classification system in high school athletics based on school population. Wenonah is currently 5-A. I have a few questions:
The kid really looks like a great athlete, just wondering from those that live in Alabama about his level of competition?
- How tough is the competition that he is facing?
- Can the new 5A with seven classifications be comparable to an old 4A where there were five classifications.
- Do you feel that Williams could equally excel if he was 6A or 7A? Is he that good of a player?
