during the A's vs Blue Jays game yesterday was telling about being recruited by Coach Bryant in 1965 to play football (baseball, too) at Alabama. Fosse decided to play baseball for the A's. In 1973, the A's played the B'ham Barrons at Rickwood Field. During that visit to Birmingham Fosse and several of his teammates while at dinner were visited at their table by Coach Bryant. When Fosse was introduced to him for the first time that night, Coach Bryant recalled that Fosse had declined the opportunity to play Football and Baseball at Alabama. Fosse was impressed that Coach Bryant remembered him eight years later.
