The reality is the transfer portal hurt this season. However, after the Georgia win I wanted to believe that old magic may be there. But, no I was wrong and reality has set back in. Will we get into the playoff? Who knows, but certainly no guarantee. Side note, while No. 4 is playing better this year his ceiling is not as high as we hoped. On the other hand, Ty Simpson has a much higher ceiling but cannot get on the field, and therefore cannot get real game experience. It sucks to be in this situation. No options. The penalties killed this game more than any other single thing. Take away half the penalties and Bama might have been able to pull it out despite the turnovers. These are my opinions of course, but I feel this analysis is pretty solid.
