The coaches are keeping the most risky pass options off the table. Hurts does not have the read and react development for second level coverage analysis developed yet so throwing what is the riskiest pass in CFB (7-15 yard over the middle) has been pulled from his play options. Guys jumping routes, zone - man splits etc are too complex for Hurts maturity and reaction time. Expect to see the same until next year - WR screens, wheel routes and deep bombs. Honestly he is having difficulty with the read option at the line of scrimmage so thankfully our coaching brains are smart enough to design a game plan around the skill set and not trying to force a square peg in a round hole. This is why CNS does not like freshman QB's and why the likes of Howard etc are seeing limited involvement.
