This shit has got to end if the SEC ever wants to be considered the best basketball conference....which it has the talent to be! The announcers pointed it out that no conference has a higher winning % at home than the SEC! Well thats because for the last 20 years the refs have controlled outcomes and changed the flow of games! And that includes at Coleman for Bama! It blows my mind how refs change their own damn flow and foul calling style in the middle or late in games to help the home teams! The fouls late in that game became so tic tac it was incredible! The infuriating part is it was called both ways down the stretch and in my opinion the shit refs in the SEC is what separates this conference from the top!🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤯🤯

I agree with the last 20 years of bad officiating in the SEC! Maybe longer! I think it is getting worse. Every single one of them likes to call a charge above all else because the attention shifts to them. Most of these calls are ridiculous! Last night they reviewed a breakaway foul and still got it wrong. They should get rid of every crew in the SEC. They are terrible. I watch other conferences and for the most part the games are called better.

Basketball isn't like football. Officials in basketball don't work for just one conference. Those same guys that called our game last night may be working an ACC or Big 12 game tonight, so it's being way too simplistic to point the finger at "SEC Refs" because there's no such thing.

For about 90% of the second half, Pippen Jr. didn't have to move from the FT line. Sad part is he initiated the phantom calls against him by making contact with the defender. When they finally called a foul on him, he had this incredulous look on his face that seem to say, "do you know who my daddy is? You can't call a foul on me!" Bama had to battle Vandy and the refs.

Bad officiating goes back further than 20 years. The biggest issue is the advantage in fouls that the home team gets over the visiting team. I had the opportunity to play golf with the old Georgia coach Hugh Durham several years ago. He said anytime you played at Rupp it was 5 vs 8. Said he learned his lesson in one of his first games coaching there. He said if your team was fortunate to get a foul called against UK the official would just ho hum blow his whistle and casually walk over to the scorers table and announce the foul. Then right in front of him one of his players drew what was an obvious blocking foul, but the ref took running start gave the charge sign and the place went nuts. He said the smile on that officials face when he heard the crowd reaction was like he hit the game winning shot himself.

Vandy shot 12 free throws during the last 3 minutes last night. Bama shot 6. Pippin shot 9. The odd thing about this shot disparity was that Vandy was trying to foul and Bama was trying not to foul. The foul on Rojas with 46 seconds remaining was brutal. He never touched the Pip. The most egregious ref error was when Davison got the rebound of Vandy's last shot at 4.8 seconds left. He was fouled by 2 Vandy players, yet no call. Ironically, that may have turned out in Bama's favor.
