Rojas didn't see any PT tonight. Probably not a good matchup for him. We had a lot of turnovers as it was and he needs to cut down on his if he sees more time on the court.

Rojas was out due to an undisclosed medical condition. He will most likely not be available Tuesday.

Rojas may not be Karl Malone, but he is solidly built and plays with a high motor, and those guys are usually more important than their base talent might predict. His PER may not be great, but other teams can’t relax with him around.

Man we are all watching very different players when watching Rojas... I agree he plays with a high motor. But... who cares? He may be the worst basketball player in the history of alabama basketball.

What's interesting is that in an interview before our first SEC game, Oats said Rojas is one of our 5 best players.
Its gotten more interesting to me with every minute I’ve seen him... and I’ve seen enough. Man, I feel like a jerk. I’m sure he’s a great kid. But I don’t want him on the court for another second

Eblen was non-productive offensively but didn’t actively kill us. Rojas is actually destructive
Ben Elben was the worst player that I think I have ever seen at Alabama. His best percentage free throw shooting was 42%

Rojas can at least rebound

I feel the same way about Rojas but I do think he has ability to come around and be a solid player. Still think he's trying to do too much too fast. Poise

The only contribution Rojas can make is in rebounding, and for his size he's probably average at best in that regard. He is literally a liability in every other aspect of the game.

For the few Rojas haters on here, Kyle put together a link to the roster in the Sticky Threads section at the top of this page.
Read the bio on Rojas. He has some great achievements In Juco and a high ceiling. A lot of the negative things said about him are uncalled for, and these players are constantly trying to improve and get better.
I know some haters are just going to hate, but trashing the players on our own team doesn’t make much sense to me.
Show some class and if you want to make a comment about one of our players not playing good, it’s easy to do without trashing the kid personally.
This is just my opinion and flame away if you want.

Rojas makes Alex Reese look like Air Jordan.

Like I said above. I’m sure he’s a good kid... but he’s absolutely a liability. This is a sports message board. Not trying to trash the kid at all. I’ve said before that if he played within himself and just rebound he could help. But, he consistently tries to push the ball up the floor on fast breaks and turns it over near 100% of the time.

Agree with Lou on this one too. If you wear Crimson I'm going to cheer my ass off for you no matter what. But when he comes in it usually ends in assault or a turnover, just wildly out of control and can't believe when he's called for a foul, every time. We may need his big body minutes to bang some guys around but the two things that make me cringe most is Rojas with the ball and Shack trying to go 1 on 3 on a fast break. He's a heck of a ball player but those usually end up with the ball in the third row.

Rojas does get carried away sometimes and turns the ball over or commIt's unnecessary fouls but there have been several games where his high motor has provided a spark just when we needed it. I believe he was settling in a little better, still needs improvement there, and I trust Nate to get him to the right place. I'm thinking the coach is a pretty fair judge of talent.

I hope he comes out and scores 20 against Oklahoma. But until this point with the exception of the Furman game it’s gotten progressively worse.

At the Florida game, he had 15 points and 7 boards. He has had some good games. Look, everybody has hated Reese. You and I thought he would get better. Let's hope he can improve like Reese. We have to remember he has been injured, too. He has to learn to play within himself. I think he is still pressing to show what he can do rather than let the game come to him. Let's hope he figures it out while he is quarantined.

You’re right I forgot about the Florida game.

All of us (myself included) are quick to point out the bad, and forget about the good.

I cringe every time Rojas has the ball, but you need a physical guy in against some of these bigger teams. He was frustrating Watford the other night at LSU. Watford wanted no part of the physicality.

That's we were gonna miss him tonight in my opinion

I know it’s easy to say this now... but I just feel like Gary is a better version of Rojas
His offense is better for sure. Hes slower though it seems like. I wonder how the defensive stats look between the two.

Probably not quite as “quick twitch” but he comes up with some big time blocks in the paint.

Rojas checked into the game for the first time last night with 7:41 remaining in the opening half. He picked up his second foul at the 7:02 mark. 2 fouls in 39 seconds. That's gotta be a record - even for him.
