We know we are a really good basketball team, but I strongly feel as though we will find out a whole lot about our team a week from Saturday (1/30) when we travel to Norman to play Oklahoma in the SEC/Big 12 challenge.

The challenge has been around since the 13-14 season, but Bama has only been a part of it 4 times beating Texas Tech 76-64 in the inaugural year. We beat then ranked #12 Oklahoma 80-73 in the 17-18 season, we lost to Baylor 73-68 in the 18-19 season and then last year we beat Kansas State 77-74 in Tuscaloosa for a 3-1 record in the challenge.

Oklahoma is 7-1 at home this year, their one loss being to #15 Texas Tech 69-67. They beat #9 West Virginia 75-71 and they are outscoring their opponents on average 82-61 at Lloyd Noble Center. I am no fan of the 11:00 start time, but it did not affect us in the pasture a few weeks ago.

ROLL TIDE!!!!

I was hoping Bruner could be back for Oklahoma, so we could see how the team looks with a full roster, but looking at the calendar it seems more likely that it will be sometime around the UGA game (2/13).

Still, I think you are correct, the SEC/12 challenge will be a great snapshot. In the meantime, Bama has been playing awesome, but only for like a month, so the guys need to keep it up.
