at the age of 91. I'm on the road on business in Minnesota and just found out. For those who didn't know "Doc", or "EC", he was Bama's orthopedic surgeon for most of Coach Bryant's years-- but their relationship went way past working hours 
. He also had a local practice and set several of my broken bones. He always had some great Namath stories to tell since he knew Joe's knee pretty well. I broke an ankle one Friday night while Bama was on the road and Doc wouldn't let his partner do anything to it until he got back on Sunday. After two days in cast my girlfriend dumped a coke on it and instead of cutting the cast off and replacing it he just put a new one over the old one--his message from that was multiple--damn that cast was heavy! E.C. is just another of our behind-the-scenes greats who has now moved on from this life to smile down on this great program and it's accomplishments. RIP, "Doc"...
