These last 3 teams seem to have figured out how to defend and frustrate this team. Terrible rebounding and costly turnovers didn't help today. Hopefully Coach Oats can get them refocused for this final SEC stretch
Yep. Oats said after the game that Herb would normally dunk those missed layups. Once he is healed up, we should be a different team. I am proud of Reese. He stepped up today.Herb is playing below 75%, JQ is coming off missing multiple games, Rojas is hurt, Bruner is hurt, Reese is banged up. Just a tough stretch.
If we played them again tomorrow I’d bet the house on Bama.Basketball is all about matchups. Ky, Miss State, and Ok all match up well against us. We still beat 2 of 3. If we played OK with a different ref, we win this game 9 out of 10 times. We have injuries and they played through them. We have good leadership. They will recover. I fully believe Bama will start a new winning streak.
Dead on. In fact... I logged in to make a post about this.I believe the biggest issue right now Is JQ. He is our only PG. He can get inside the D and finish at the rim. And he can get in there and create for others. But he’s not playing good enough to even play. Those last 4 minutes we had Shack doing what JQ should be in there doing. We won’t come close to our potential in March if he doesn’t become a factor again.
correct. we did not lose to a subpar team. OKLA is very good and it was a road game. did not get any breaks from the refs for sure. still came close to winning. i hate to lose, but this team has nothing to be ashamed ofBasketball is all about matchups. Not simple as that. Road game against a good team. Bama beat up. These games happen. Effort was good with the exception of offensive rebounding. This was not a good effort today. Simple as that.
We must have missed 15 layups @ leastPerhaps. Have no post presence and too many missed layups.
Yep. And about 4 of them were clean looks. We must have missed 15 layups @ least
Which is why I am not heartbroken over this game. 2 fairly evenly matched clubs. It wasn't like OU showed us how bad we are or anything. Still a good team who may still be top 10 next week. I don't anticipate a huge slide.correct. we did not lose to a subpar team. I agreeBruner not on the court does so much more to the offense and defense than you can imagine. Without him out there everyone has had to adjust their roles. As I said the other day the first couple of games it wasn’t as noticed because the ball was still moving and spacing was actually better. But when the teams figured out what the adjustments were (for example make sure there was an offensive rebounding presence) they have exploited it. Bruner may not have gotten all the rebounds but it was his assignment most of the time to not let the other big get in a position to get it. Now you’ve got bigs free jumping for rebounds because other coaches get paid to figure things out too.

in my opinion, yes he does with out a doubtDoes JD Davidson come in a start at point day 1?
While I agree with the match up part of your post, I don't think Bama wins this game 9 out of 10 times. There were killed on the boards, OU slowed the game down and play physical basketball. Those things Bama has to learn to deal with against the better teams in the country. Disappointing to lose to a team without their best player and two starters but it's something to learn from.Basketball is all about matchups. Ky, Miss State, and Ok all match up well against us. Probably.Does JD Davidson come in and start at point day 1?
You're the worst poster by far on this site and thats saying a lot!If Herb is below 75% then he shouldn’t be playing.
If herb was 100% and Bruner wasn't out Bama would most definitely beat them more times then they beat Bama. While I agree with the match up part of your post, I don't think Bama wins this game 9 out of 10 times. No doubt. JQ can’t even get on the court right now when the game is on the line and we really need him out there.
I agree Bama would win more than they lose against this team, but not 9 out of 10. they are a good team and they played without two starters, one being their best player. If herb was 100% and Bruner wasn't out Bama would most definitely beat them more times then they beat Bama.
I think Bama beats them 9 out of 10 times without their 2 that missed today. They are a good team, but Bama beat themselves today with some bad turnovers and some really bad calls by the refs. Just my 2 cents. While I agree with the match up part of your post, I don't think Bama wins this game 9 out of 10 times.
