first off I know it is stupid. an old fart like me can certainly not understand why any one would just destroy some thing of value. (even though I have a 6 or 7 year old flip phone that probably did not cost much) I
i know that 90% or more of our young people would never do something like that, BUT IT IS NOT AS UNCOMMON AS US OLD FARTS MIGHT THINK.
let me tell you a true story that happened about 3 years ago..-- my oldest grandson's girl friend (now wife by the way) picked his phone up and found where an old girl friend had sent him a text. she then looked back and found where they had called each other several times and then fond where she had sent him a picture. she took his phone and beat it with a hammer and told him she would beat his ass if she ever saw that again.
now was he right in what was going on. probably not. was she right in doing what she did. of course not. should anybody have gone to jail-- not in my opinion
now I do not know what happened in cyrus's case and this story probably does not apply, but even though most folks have more sense than too destroy a cell-phone, it is more common than we think and is usually brought on by something like I just told you in my story.
on another note-- I have a son whose wife has threatened to destroy his phone if he did not quit staying on rivals so much. SO FAR IT HAS JUST BEEN A THREAT
