The Crimson Tide worked outside Wednesday afternoon in downright pleasant conditions. Here is what I noticed during the full-pad media viewing period.

Redshirt senior Korren Kirven continued working with the first-team offensive line at right guard. Kirven, who has been a reserve tackle this year and in 2015, started the game against Mississippi State. Joshua Casher was at right guard with the second team. It doesn't appear that Alphonse "Shank" Taylor will return to his starting role.

The season started with question marks surrounding the running backs position, but the emergence of Damien Harris and true freshman Josh Jacobs eased those concerns. However, depth has been an issue the last two weeks with sophomore Bo Scarbrough limited and Harris not at 100 percent either. Scarbrough was in the rotation during practice behind Harris and Jacobs. IMO, Scarbrough had his best game against LSU. If he can return to that form, that's a very good thing for the Alabama offense.

Defensive line coach Karl Dunbar spent time working with true freshman Raekwon Davis. You'll recall Davis absolutely blew up a Mississippi State offensive lineman last Saturday. Davis is a promising young player to watch.

Up next: Nick Saban press conference tonight at 6.
