The 3-pointer: Three takeaways from Alabama's loss against Oklahoma

Our bigs lacked effort and were getting owned all night. Still think we should have let Pringle beat and bang more. I'm a big believer if you have guys on the floor that don't want to hustle and play hard you give another guy a chance. Even if he's not as good

Top 5 teams do not display the lack of effort I saw today. Nothing wrong with losing/ but that speaks of something else being wrong.
And yep/ being down 30 with 2 minutes to play to a team that was 11-9 and had lost 3 in a row while averaging 56 points a game does say something has gone sideways in a big way.

We have so much talent with the next level on the mind, was just a matter of time before we saw an unraveling. Will be interesting to see how, if we respond.

1 bad game with a young team dealing with the outside stuff they have had thrown at them is in no way an indication things have gone sideways. If it carries over to multiple games then we may have an issue but as of now this is an outlier.

But continue on with your chicken little mentality. You seem to enjoy it.

I hate to say it, but this teams shooting issues goes well beyond one game. We have made up for it some by our defense, but that effort has been lacking for at least the last couple games. Effort is something you always have control over. This, also, wasn’t just one bad game to a good team. This was our worse loss in a 1/2 a decade, and to a mediocre team. I am far from saying the season is over, but we have some serious issues that go beyond just one game that we need to turn around quickly or we are in real trouble. Hopefully, we do.

Well, it is 2 games in a row now. And the “ young” excuse is too widely used and has nothing to do with effort.

I wasnt aware we lost 2 in a row. Thanks for pointing that out.

And no a young team is not an excuse,it's a fact. Continue on with your constant whining.

Every team will have shooting woes during the course of a season with the way the game is played now. It even happens to Golden State. And good teams make up for shooting slumps with defense.

This is a really bad shooting slump, if that is all that it is, but you are right about the defense, which is what I stated in my post. Our defense has been our savior this season in many games, regardless of our shooting, but have you seen the defensive effort the last couple games against sub par offensive teams? That is concerning, and that is the combination of what brought about today’s result.

The Miss St game was the worst performance of the year by far and was at home. Until this one today which was epically bad.
And JQ is 24 years old. Sears has played 3-4 years.

All I do is tell the truth. Bama has had a great season/ but last 2 games team has had zero focus.

Thats 2 players in our rotation but ok.

In addition to being young,this team is new to each other and still learning. But hey you do you and if being a total whiner lights your fire continue on.

But I'm not going to panic or whine over 1 loss when we're 18-3 overall with one of the toughest schedules to date in the country.

Today was a terrible day, but l have all the confidence in the world that this group will be back. ln the end l think we have a very successful season and l'm looking forward to enjoying it.
Starting Tuesday night by the way.
