gussie asked for a review. The review seemed to show the clock expiring prior to snap but the play was allowed to continue... (side bar)...the scoreboard clock and onfield play clock are NOT official time pieces. (end side bar) ... the Back Judge keeps the official play clock, which wasn't a factor here, the Official in the booth keeps the official game clock. Now, obviously there isnt enough time prior to the snap to relay down to the field that the game clock has expired HOWEVER there is plenty of time prior to a review to say the game clock had expired, so No Play!
It is also incumbent on the White Hat, especially, after a stoppage and confusion as to what the penalty on the final play does, to let both teams know (and the fans) that the next play starts on my whistle or the next play starts on the snap. He did not do that.
So all that being said, the call on he field was TD. It is not absolutely certain when the snap was initiated AND they where looking at it (at least TV was) using an unofficial timepiece. The Official running the official game clock DID NOT blow the play dead prior to review.
All this is water under the bridge but the play should have stood as called. barner magic.
