A team dominated by freshmen and a sophomore have stood up to some of the bluest of blue blood teams in the game. They have fought through adversity and played some of their best basketball when things looked bleak. They seem to have great culture and thanks to Sears and Quinerly often play with the poise of a veteran team. NOW THE REALITY, we won't know how good they really are until they hit the road on conference games. My bet is they'll survive and do well and ultimately be recognized as our best "Team" since the Sprewell, Horry and Robinson days.

Good post. Will be tough to achieve more in conference play than the 2020 team though. I think we’ll have some growing pains but will be a tough out come March

You mean playing #1 NC and #1 Houston, #2 UCONN on the road wasn't a good litmus test? Although the Memphis game was at home, it was anything but a cakewalk. This team is batttle-tested and ready for a tough SEC sked.

The gym was nearly empty against MSU, UNC and U Conn. the teams were good but there will be an entirely different pressurewhen they play a well coached and talented SEC team on the road in front of a standing room only crowd.

One caveat to keep in mind: The crowd (although rowdy) does not take the court. If our players let the crowd noise effect them, then you are correct, it will be difficult. Every player on the team (regardless of class status) should have played in front of a racous crowd before. Just do your job and play within a team concept. I'm more worried about one-sided officiating and TOs.

If you are correct why are home records better than road records in all sports? There is no way any high school crowd can be anything like Auburn, Kentucky or Georgia.

Home records/noise/ are psychological. If players enter the game thinking they can't win because they're "not at home," then you need different players. The easiest way to eradicate crowd noise and bring silence about the decks, is the fill up the basket. They will either cease and desist or start cheering for the visiting team. 😎
Peace! I'm out!

As a general rule the home team gets more breaks from the refs. The louder the crowd the worse this gets. Not saying refs. do this on purpose, but it is human nature to rather be cheered than booed. Close calls seem to go the way of the home team.

l know this is not true in all games. l believe it is true in a majority of games though.
