What an incredibly fun atmosphere at Coleman Coliseum last night! Even though it ended in a loss, that’s the best atmosphere I can remember for a home game.
Tennessee is a just a better team and they’re elite in every facet. Why? They’re one of the most experienced teams in the country with a lot of talent. With that being said, Alabama still had a prime opportunity to win the game and couldn’t hit shots down the stretch.
Overall, I thought Alabama’s defense was solid and kept them in the game for stretches in the game. The foul trouble Alabama was in became too much for a team that has little quality frontcourt depth. Tennessee ended up shooting more and making more threes, which was not something I expected either.
I thought it was a very good game by two teams that can/will make it to the 2nd weekend. You always hate your team losing these kind of close, hard fought games, but that’s sports. Sometimes the other team is just better, and Tennessee has proven they’re just better.
What’s next for Alabama? @ Florida and vs Arkansas. If they split these last 2, then they’re all but guaranteed a top 4 seed. An SEC title isn’t out of the question, but would obviously require some help.
