It was a dog fight for about 30 minutes last night with a very scrappy Missouri team, but Alabama’s talent and persistence won in the end.
On a night that Mark Sears didn’t have it and ultimately got injured, the team responded by multiple guys stepping up big time. Mark Sears checked out of the game for the last time with 7:58 left with the score 59-55, and Alabama went on a 34-20 run to win 93-75.
Rylan Griffen scored a career high 21, Aaron Estrada finished with 21, and three others finished in double digits. I thought Alabama played really good defense majority of the night, as Missouri hit a ton of tough shots. Alabama’s turnovers kept Missouri in it early, and they continued to score through tough defense.
When Alabama gets production from Estrada and Griffen like they did tonight, this team is about impossible to stop offensively. It seemed like they played fairly poorly offensively a lot last night, and then you look up and they finish with 93. It speaks to how explosive and balanced this team is.
Alabama travels to Knoxville on Saturday, where they’ll likely be 5-6 point underdogs, but is an opportunity to get a huge win. A loss will not hurt Bama in any way, but a win could go a long way to winning the SEC and getting a top 4 seed.
