Insert JQ in the starting lineup and got a faster start. It is amazing what one roster move can do to a team and their performance, but JQ got the team rolling early and they never looked back. I thought they got a lot better looks from the floor, played aggressively on defense, and played with a ton of fire and emotion. When they are playing that way then Alabama is really tough to beat.

It was a fast start in the first half that gave Alabama a 20 point lead in the first half and then played the bench for about half of the second half to rest their legs. It is such a luxury to be able to do that and that is why it's so important to get that double bye. Alabama scored 70 on Miss St in what was only the 7th time all season they allowed that and it could've been so much more.

Alabama struggled from deep for a lengthy stretch, but you can't pass up those looks when they're that wide open. Mark Sears finally hit a 3 to hopefully get him going and Rylan Griffen hit a late shot that'll hopefully get him going as well. You have to have these guys keep shooting or they won't ever get out of it. I thought Charles Bediako had the best game of his great season today and really shut down the paint that MSU really loves to attack and gave Tolu Smith fits.

Alabama moves on to face Missouri or Tennessee tomorrow in what will be a great game. Contrasting styles between the two, but you know this team wants to avenge the loss from Tennessee.

Bediako was two free throws away from just about a perfect game for him. His play today should get him a spot on the All Tourney team unless it does not show up tomorrow. One down and two to go. Expectation is nothing less than cutting the nets down in Nashville. The Bama team from the first half can do that if they build on what they started today. Best they looked since early February today.

Through the rest of the season, with the possible exception of our first round NCAA game, each game we'll see a better team than the one we just played. I hope we can keep stepping up a bit each game. We have to at least get consistent in the 35-40% area on 3s and manage turnovers. Today it looks like we were hot, then cold, then warm, then ice cold, then hot again and managed to not be too crazy with turnovers.

If we had needed 35 minutes from Bediako I have no doubt he would have had a triple double today. Thankfully we were able to rest him a lot.

Yep. If they can build on the 1st half performance game by game. If we're counting that would be 1 down and eight to go to cut nets down and one down and six to go just to make a final four. But this team looked good today. I seen January groove in them 1st half today.

At work and just saw the game in bits and pieces. With Q starting how did substitutions go and was there a big drop off when they occured?

I didn’t notice a drop off until the2nd half when most of the starters sat for over 6 min. When the starters started joining back in it got better.

Yes you can pwest. Proud of you :). And it was a very solid effort.

How about Gurley? Last scored against the Vols on 2/25, and hadn't played since the barn. He stepped up big time. Good to see.

Team played with energy, was focused, and they looked like they we're enjoying themselves. Good to see after the last 5 or so games.
