this is a spot that we are very, very, thin. i think o.j. howard will begin to reach his potential and have a great year. i think he might even leave after next year for the N.F.L.. i know he has to improve, but i think he will. I believe his blocking improved as the year went on last year and he will be a good blocker this year we need to keep him healthy though and that is for sure. if we have an injury to o.j. we might need to change our offense, because there is no other true tight-end other than our true freshman--hale hentiges. I do not think hale will be ready and unless we have injuries that force him to play I hope he can redshirt

ty flournoy-smith is better suited at h-back, but he can play tight-end. unless Ronnie clark really steps up at h-back smith is our only other option other than nyswander ( walk-on ). if we are going to have a tight-end in the game that is going to be a threat to catch the ball we have to keep o.j. and ty healthy

as far as our big blocking tight-ends in short yardage I am afraid dekota ball and johnny dewight will not be as good as greene was ( had to move back to tackle because of depth issue ) greene was bigger, stronger, and more athletic than either one of them. hopefully they will get the job done though.

we may end up having one of our best tight-ends under saban this year, but if o.j. gets hurt this is a position that could be a weak spot this year. our coaches will figure out how to work around it and I truly believe we will have a great football team this year, but tight-end may end up being a weak spot. if we stay healthy we should be fine though
