Duke Johnson is done with taking unofficial visits and/or considering other programs at this point of the process. But here's the thing, he really hasn't been as 'open' with the recruitment as some reports had suggested. He didn't actually make it to other campuses this fall, either.
A source this morning confirmed that there were plans, in principle, for the athletic LB to get to both Auburn and Florida State for early season games. It made sense, of course, because each as a finalist for the Peach State star. FSU may have even been his leader before UA really started to push in the spring. Auburn was always sort of in the mix, but rarely near the top of the race. He cancelled the unofficial visit plans on his own. FSU's trip got 86ed because of weather, but we're told there are no plans to reschedule.
Alabama has been strong with this commitment since he jumped on board, and the family is quite settled with the pick. In fact, we're told part of the reason to shut things down is because of the solidity and the desire to make the most of the coming weekends during the season, whether at Alabama or back home in GA, because Duke is an early enrollee and the family is trying to get in that quality time instead of entertaining some potential college options beyond UA.
