Alabama will host several recruits this weekend! Below is a look at the top storylines to follow. I will also post any news, notes and nuggets within this thread!
Tyler Steen taking final visit before making decision?
Vanderbilt offensive line transfer Tyler Steen will visit the Crimson Tide this weekend. The three-year starter for the Commodores has visited Kentucky, LSU and N.C.State. His father, Daris, spoke with BamaInsider a few weeks ago regarding Alabama's pursuit of his son (READ HERE). Alabama can give a lot of credit to new offensive line coach Eric Wolfold if it's able to add the coveted lineman.
“Coach Wolf (Eric Wolford) is a closer,” Steen’s father said. “He is relentless. The key thing in my industry is to always stay in front of your client or at least try to. He stays in front of you whether that’s with a picture, a call or text. He is constantly around without being there in person. That’s an outstanding trait to have.”
Top quarterback target returning to Tuscaloosa
Eli Holstein re-opened his recruitment last week after committing to Texas A&M last summer. Holstein visited Alabama in November and also returned for Junior Day earlier this month. The interest on both sides is extremely high. The biggest question is will Alabama accept a commitment prior to Arch Manning making a decision?
I am not sure there is a clear cut answer just yet. Alabama will get Manning on campus next weekend. It may give the Tide a good sense on where things stand in his recruitment. It may decide Holstein is a better fit. These are just some unknowns at this time and will sit down with both quarterbacks during the course of the next two weekends and go from there. It may continue its heavy pursuit of both or make a choice to push for one more so than the other.
Will Alabama create separation with O-line targets?
Miles McVay and Olaus Alinen are both heavily recruited by the Crimson Tide. The two have a very strong connection with Alabama's new OL coach (Eric Wolford. Both are also returning to Alabama for the third time this weekend. Alinen named Alabama as his leader after an unofficial visit in late November. He has enjoyed some recent visits including Clemson, Ohio State and South Carolina. Alinen will take an official visit to Alabama in June. It will mark the first time his family has visited Tuscaloosa.
I think Alabama is comfortably in the driver's seat for Alinen despite him saying that all schools are equal on his list. I think it's only a matter of time before he is on the Tide's commitment list. McVay had a great trip with the Tide during Junior Day in late January. He didn't name Alabama as his favorite, but definitely right near the top.
"I just feel comfortable there," McVay said. "It felt like home. Alabama feels like East Side (East St. Louis). What stands out to me is that Alabama reminds me of where I come from. It doesn't get much better.
"I like the mind-set of the players. It's not an arrogant attitude. It's a confident attitude. We know what we can do. You have a bunch of guys who all have the same mentality and all trying to reach the common goal. Alabama is up there. That's all I can really say. They are definitely up there. I am going to leave it at that.”
Alabama has also heavily recruited Austin Siereveld, the No.5 overall player in Ohio. The four-star lineman visited Alabama in the fall. Coach Wolford recruited Siereveld when he was coaching the O-line at Kentucky. The relationship has continued growing stronger since his arrival in Tuscaloosa. Siereveld has a top six which consists of Alabama, Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
"They developed lots of guys for the NFL and they win national championships," Siereveld said about his his interest in Alabama. "They would do everything to help me develop as a player and student."
A few more quick hitters
I certainly expect more recruits in Tuscaloosa this weekend. We just may not know until a little later today or when they arrive on campus.
Alabama offered Stephilyan Green during his Junior Day visit a few months ago. This a big a year for Alabama to add high quality defensive linemen. The Tide will continue growing its relationship with Green. It may want to see him in camp before making a big push, but we will see if anything changes!
FSU commitment Kameron Davis received an offer from Alabama earlier this month. Davis is one of the best dual-sport athletes in the country. He is also committed to play baseball for the Seminoles. He will want to have the option to play both sports if Alabama becomes a top contender in his recruitment. The 2024 athlete is recruited as a running back.
Weekend visitors list

Eli Holstein, Rivals100 quarterback from Zachary HS in Louisiana

Austin Siereveld, four-star offensive guard from Lakota East HS in Liberty Township, Ohio
Stephiylan Green, four-star defensive tackle from Rome HS in Georgia
Kameron Davis, 2024 Rivals100 running back from Dougherty HS in Albany, Georgia (FSU commitment)
