Here are a few of the younger players who were discussed during SEC Media Days

Henry Ruggs III

“Henry Ruggs had a fantastic year,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said at SEC Media Days. “We thought he was the most dynamic player in Alabama the year that we recruited him, and he certainly didn’t disappoint in terms of a lot of the big plays that he made. We’re hopeful that he’ll continue to develop and even be more productive in the future.” — Nick Saban.

Jerry Jeudy

“Almost their entire game [is the same]. The way they run routes is the same. The way they catch the ball, the way they look it in, everything that they do is the same. Their open-field moves are the same. Jerry Jeudy’s a great young player for us, and I think that he’ll really step into his role this year with Calvin being gone and really fill that role just as effectively as Calvin did.” — Damien Harris comparing Jerry Jeudy to Calvin Ridley.

Brian Robinson

“I think he plays a lot like Bo [Scarbrough] did. He’s very strong, very powerful but very agile at the same time. He can do a lot of things. He can catch out of the backfield. He can block in pass protect. He can run in between the tackles. There are so many things he can do. He’s so versatile, that something that’s so exciting about him.” — Damien Harris

Christopher Allen

“He’s one of the young players that understood his role last year and he definitely understood that he wanted to improve his game this year. He’s one of the guys who is improving and getting better every game.” — Anfernee Jennings

Eyabi Anoma

“Eyabi, he’s a great player. We haven’t really got in pads yet, but so far, he’s doing a great job in the conditioning program, working out, learning the playbook. Just trying to learn the game from the older guys and learn as much as he can, so I’m looking forward to seeing him.” — Anfernee Jennings

Jayln Armour-Davis

“He has made very nice progress. He’s a fine young man. He’s got really good ability. He’s a hard worker. He’s bright. He’s been able to learn and make improvement over the summer, and hopefully, he’ll continue that development and be able to contribute to the team this fall.

“I think it’s going to be critical for us on defense that we have some young players — over the entire defense, but most certainly in the secondary — that are going to have to develop and mature into players that can play winning football at those positions for us. And Jalyn Armour-Davis is certainly one of those people that will have a chance to do that.” — Nick Saban
