Is stronger than your starting five, you know you in for a long night. It was a long night!
Totally agree. No matter who they brought in, produced. They basically wore our starters down to a nubbin. Great comeback to get within two, but our power drained and they were like the Energizer Bunny. Couple that with low production/no production from some of our troops and you have what we got, a solid drubbing. JQ and JS played their azzes off. JD could have stayed in T-town and studied. The moment was too big for him. Ellis came alive too late and Miles might be a planted mole for the other team.Is stronger than your starting five, you know you in for a long night. Optimism is good, but I believe our preseason expectations for this team were once again too high. So far, they have thrilled us at times and given us ulcers at other times. Kessler had a "block party" last night and God knows how many shots he altered. Bediako blocked a few shots but lacks consistency and toughness. They are a better team guys. Gonna have to accept that for this year lol. I mean they are loaded and the favorite to win the natty. As complete of a roster as you see in college. All the pieces fell in perfect place for them this year.
we have a good team but not a complete team. The pieces didn’t fall in place for us this year. Gurley didn’t work out like expected and JD just too far away from reaching his potential to be a reliable guy for us, on top of primo rising up draft board out of nowhere and jumping ship and Burnett hurting his knee. We should be thrilled that a frustrating disappointing season for us is going to have us comfortably in the dance and knowing we can beat nearly anyone we play.
y’all try not to lose sight if the fact we spent 20 years on the tournament bubble, regularly the wrong side of the bubble, and completely incapable of pulling off a top 10 or even top 25 win most seasons. It’s a new era and if this is a disappointment that’s a great sign
I think expectations were definitely many shoulder shrugged losses of Burnett and Primo in the off-season. All I’m saying this definitely a frustrating team but fans should keep perspective and remember where we are coming from. I feel like we are still in the beginning stages of Oats building something here. Not going to be a football like ascent. I’m just glad we are relevant and will have ourselves in position to get hot in the dance. Can’t get hot if you are sitting at homeOptimism is good, but I believe our preseason expectations for this team were once again too high. JD looks like he doesn’t even belong on the court in games like that. Scared and no help on either end. Bediako will be called Charmin until he takes a ball down the lane and dunks on someone.
au guards were salivating when he was bringing ball up. He’s a better fit at 2 but has to knock down 3s.JD reminds me of Petty somewhat. Their dribbling ability is similar and is what is ultimately holding him back. He needs to go grab a basketball and take off in a dribbling sprint with an obstacle course doing 360s in both directions.
When he gets that, his 3s will fall.
I can't imagine a guy who can't dribble under pressure getting drafted.
He'd fit right in with the NBA as far as defense is concerned. As another poster pointed out one problem with our defense is the second or third guy never rotates where they should be to prevent a layup or dunk. He isn't the only/main problem but when I rewatch defensive breakdowns JD is rarely where he needs to be. Late in last night's game (it was already out of hand) a Barn role player got past his defender and went baseline. Now JD was in the lane and had he cut off the player there would have been a relatively easy lob to Kessler in the lane. JD didn't even try to get to the ballhandler and an uncontested layup occured. He sucks on defense, doesn’t seem to really understand the concept of team defense,
