Guessing it to be an illness but haven’t heardMaybe I missed it but I didn’t see him play.
He was on the bench. Surely he wouldn’t have been on the bench with an illness.Guessing it to be an illness but haven’t heard
Oh … I didn’t see him on the bench. Yes, illness wouldn’t make sense, I guess. He was on the bench. Surely he wouldn’t have been on the bench with an illness.
So why did Charles, Clowney and Pringle play? That makes no sense to not dress a guy for that reason. I don’t believe that’s the real reason.Oats said in his press conference he wanted to play small ball so held out Gurley
What are we going to do when we play a big team, sit JQ and Sears? He was held out due to a match-up decision. Oats does it fairly often

Because they’re true 5’s while Gurley is a 4. Miller played the 4 primarily last nightSo why did Charles, Clowney and Pringle play? That makes no sense to not dress a guy for that reason. I don’t believe that’s the real reason.
So you’re saying Gurley never plays the 5?Because they’re true 5’s while Gurley is a 4. Miller played the 4 primarily last night
Rarely. It’s either Bediako or Clowney majority of the time. Miller typically plays the 3, but played the 4 last night a good bit.So you’re saying Gurley never plays the 5?
I get it. But I’ve never heard of this and honestly don’t like it. If he’s banged up, it’s different. But if he’s a healthy scratch just bc of matchups, I don’t like that. And a player worth anything wouldn’t either.Rarely. It’s either Bediako or Clowney majority of the time. Miller typically plays the 3, but played the 4 last night a good bit.
I get it. It’s honestly baffling to me because he’s been playing well as of late. One thing I will say is this team really has bought in and will do anything Oats thinks is bestI get it. Not saying Jordan is not right, because he should know better than me, but maybe it was a one game punishment for some minor infraction like missing a class, or something of that matter, and CNO did not want to make it public and needlessly embarrass the young man. Just spit balling, but he was there, looked healthy, and if it were something bigger than what Jordan said, or my thought, I imagine CNO would have told us.I get it. It’d be better to just say he needed a game off physically than to say he sat for matchup reasons. If I’m a recruit, I’m remembering that. Not saying Jordan is not right, because he should know better than me, but maybe it was a one game punishment for some minor infraction like missing a class, or something of that matter, and CNO did not want to make it public and needlessly embarrass the young man. That makes sense but it doesn’t make sense as to why Gurley didn’t dress and play at all.We didn't do a great job of guarding CC last night, but IMO Pringle played instead of Gurley behind Bediako because he was a better match-up defensively against CC.
As l said this is just my opinion.
l guess l'm wrong then, but l thought he was in uniform and went through warm-ups.That makes sense but it doesn’t make sense as to why Gurley didn’t dress and play at all.
“Hey Buddy…you’ve been playing really well for us. But the matchup isn’t great tonight. Just wear your street clothes and sit the bench!”
